Give us a call or send us an email. Dr. Lee will then arrange a complimentary 15- to 20-minute phone consultation to figure out your needs. During this phone call, you and Dr. Lee can try to figure out how best to create an assessment or therapy plan to fit you needs.
-
During the first meeting, it may feel like Dr. Lee is asking you a lot of questions. But, that’s because you are the expert on your child or yourself! He may also have you fill out some questionnaires, which can further clarify how he can help. This initial intake session can take about 1.5 to 2 hours, but it’s also a chance for you to get to know Dr. Lee and whether he will be a good fit to help you get answers.
-
During the initial intake session, you and Dr. Lee will come up with an assessment or therapy plan. This will serve as a kind of road map, but it is not set in stone. Things change — and maybe a few more (or less) sessions may be what is best for you, that’s not a problem. For assessments, sessions are broken down into 2 or 3 large chunks of time. For therapy, it may depend on your goals, but on average, research has shown 8 to 10 sessions are most helpful.
-
Feedback sessions are mostly for assessment and it is used as a time to go over results from testing. You and Dr. Lee can review in detail the results from the assessment, talk about next steps, as well as address all your questions and concerns moving forward.
-
Don’t worry! We understand that life happens. Let us know at least 24 hours in advance that you will be cancelling your sessions. Dr. Lee will talk to you about late cancellation fees during your intake session.
If you’ve decided that you want to stop seeing Dr. Lee for any number of reasons, that’s okay, too! Just let us know and we can help try to find a different psychologist or counselor to help you continue on your journey.
